Transcending Reality with Ho’oponopono: A Journey Beyond Perception
Most people practice ho’oponopono with the belief that their efforts will enhance their lives. While true, some equate ho’oponopono with the Law of Attraction (LOA), Neville Goddard’s teachings, or even modern business practices.
If we embrace Dr. Donald D. Hoffman’s theories at Stanford University, the worlds we experience consist merely of avatars or mechanisms to control perception. We never directly encounter the real world. Hoffman illustrates this with the story of Australia’s favorite bottled beer, which had to redesign its bottles because a specific beetle preferred them over potential mates.
Every element of our experience stems from personal data filters. This doesn’t just apply to desires like a new car or money for rent. It includes being stuck in a supermarket line, finding a gas station out of fuel, or being late for an appointment.
Common issues such as illnesses also originate from this data.
Traditionally, ho’oponopono served to resolve family or community disputes through an elder or a kahuna, not by negotiation but by clearing the data causing discord.
Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, among others, practiced this method, belonging to a shamanic world. In such a world, once you cease to perceive an event, it resolves for everyone involved.
Currently, our world faces turmoil. Major powers falter, and artificial intelligence (AI) evolves, threatening many jobs. Some fear AI will replace humans, while others see it as our salvation.
Avoid extremes. Politics, poverty, illness, business practices, and AI serve as distractions. In ho’oponopono, the focus remains on clearing your perceptions. If you notice someone struggling with health issues, clear the data within you that allows you to see their suffering. If a car won’t start, clear the data that brings this perception. Ho’oponopono emphasizes clearing data-triggered perceptions, not addressing the world’s or psychological issues directly.
